Galaxy A55 and A35 Join Samsung’s One UI 8 Update Party

by admin

Samsung is moving quickly than expected with its One UI 8 rollout. Originally planned for early October, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 have now begun receiving the update in South Korea, arriving ahead of schedule. A global release may begin later this week. Other eligible models will receive One UI 8 in the coming weeks.

One UI 8 lands on the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35

The stable One UI 8 build for the Galaxy A55, known as the Galaxy Quantum 5 in Korea, carries firmware version A556SKSU6CYI6 and comes in at around 1.9GB. The Galaxy A35’s update is also live in Korea, with a similar OTA package on the cards. These updates bring Android 16 to both devices, complete with Samsung’s latest refinements and optimizations.

Unlike One UI 7, which delivered a sweeping visual overhaul, One UI 8 focuses on refinement and smarter functionality. It lays the groundwork for the upcoming One UI 8.5, which is expected to introduce more significant design changes. Key upgrades include smarter Calendar and Reminders apps, upgraded Good Lock, improved Quick Share, and polished UI elements.

While the Galaxy A55 and A35 are first seeing the update in Korea, Samsung’s roadmap points to a global expansion starting in early October, with October 2nd being the most likely date for broader availability in several markets. Users can check for updates manually by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

By delivering One UI 8 early to its popular Galaxy A series, Samsung shows its commitment to faster updates beyond just flagship models. While there’s still room to grow, the pace of improvement is clear. With performance refinements, smarter apps, and better integration, Galaxy A55 and A35 owners are getting a meaningful upgrade now with One UI 8. More mid-range models will receive this update shortly.
